Ho-Pen Chang

Dr. Chang has more than 30 years of experiences on engineering development, system integration & testing, and software development for aerospace programs including remote sensing satellite, international space station, Delta-IV launch vehicle, communication and forecasting satellites, and aerobraking technology.

As the FORMOSAT-5 program director at National Space Organization (NSPO) in Taiwan since 2010, Dr. Chang has been providing excellent leadership efforts among NARLabs sister centers and executing contracts with various domestic and international vendors.  FORMOSAT-5 is the first satellite self-reliantly developed by NSPO, which has significantly increased the confidence of engineering team at NSPO.  Before joining NSPO in 2009, Dr. Chang was with The Boeing Company satellite development group for more than ten years.  As a lead system engineer, Dr. Chang developed DirecTV (10~12) satellites; responsible for requirement development/flowdown, system/subsystem designs and satellite I&T, in addition to participating in various satellite programs.
