Prof. Abd Alla Gad, senior professor of NARSS, Egypt,  was graduated, in 1976, at Soil Sciences department, Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt with "Very good with honour” degree. He obtained the Graduate scientific Degree of advanced Soil Sciences, July 1982, from Faculty of Sciences, State University of Ghent, Belgium.

Prof. Gad has attended a number of international scientific events around the world and has published a number of 134 articles in different International and National Journals, bulletins and proceedings. He is the guest editor of EJRS while being an associate editorial board member & reviewer of other Journals. He has performed post Doctor Studies in the Remote Sensing Technology International Center of Tokyo (RESTIC), Japan, 1994. He elaborated further Land Degradation Post Doctor Studies in the State University of South Dakota, USA, 1995.

In year 2000, Prof. Gad, was awarded the Egyptian state prize in advanced technical Studies, Agricultural Sciences.  He used to be the P.I. of several National funded projects on soil and environmental sciences. He collaborated, as the regional coordinator for some FP’s EU funded projects (i.e. AVICENE, CAMELEO, LANDWATERMED, MEDCOASTLAND, MELIA and currently FP4BATIW). He was accepted by EU commission as SUDSOE project coordinator, 2012-2015.
