Foster Mensah is a GIS and remote Sensing Specialist and currently the Executive Director of Centre for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Services (CERSGIS) Ghana.  He has worked on several GIS and remote sensing related projects since 2000 when he was engaged as Senior Applications Specialist on the World Bank funded Ghana Environmental Management Project, commissioned to produce national digital database of current land use for Ghana from satellite image data.  He has subsequently worked on a number of projects for the World Bank, UNDP, African Development Bank, and the Government of Ghana.   He has also supervised and managed assignments on the application of earth observation technologies to development planning and presently the national focal person for the SERVIR West Africa Programme aimed at using available satellite imagery to develop user-tailored environmental information services and decision support systems for spatial planning and environmental management in the sub region.  He has a bachelor's degree in Geomatic Engineering and MPhil in Geography and Resource Development.
