Simon holds joint Canadian and Italian citizenship. As a public policy Consultant, he works in Euroconsult’s consulting and research team, contributing to the analysis of governments’ space policies and programs.

Prior to Euroconsult, Simon spent five years in Brussels, where he worked as a Policy Officer at the European Organisation for Security, within the Transport Security division, specializing in civil aviation, road and rail transport security issues. He represented the regulatory and government affairs interests of European security technology manufacturers, advocating in front of EU institutions on their behalf. Before this, he worked as a public policy consultant at Finsbury International Policy and Regulatory Advisors on issues relating to disruptive innovation and technology, working with companies such as Uber and King. Earlier, Simon was a trainee in the European Commission, working in the “Security, International Cooperation and Market Applications” unit within DG GROW on Galileo, Europe’s own Global Navigation Satellite System. Highlights included drafting a speech by Commissioner Tajani outlining the EU’s industrial space policy, contributing to Impact Assessments on proposed EU legislation related to the space sector, and attending the EU’s Space Info Days.

Simon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from McGill University, and an Advanced Master’s degree in EU International Relations from the College of Europe, where he specialized in security and comparative space policy analysis. In his free time, Simon likes to play sports, including squash, skiing and snowboarding.
